What’s it like?

Bracelet Bay is a small but picturesque cove tucked away on the west side of Mumbles head, just a 20 minute drive from Parc-Le-Breos. You won’t find much sand here until the tide drops right down but it’s popular with swimmers (though avoid swimming on the headland between the islands – there are strong rips here). It is lifeguarded in the summer months, and it’s a great place for rock pooling and fishing. There is a large car park at the head of the bay along with restaurants, bars, and an ice-cream parlour. The name ‘Bracelet’ is thought to be a corruption of ‘Broad Slade’.

Watersports

OK for bathing but avoid the headland next to the islands.

Fishing

Great fishing spot, both the right and left-hand side of the bay itself and the headland. Either spinning or plugging on an incoming tide can yield good bass, while float-fished crab might tempt a triggerfish. Avoid on windy days as the bay catches the weather.

Surfing

Not a surfing beach.
