More About Llanrhidian:
A lovely village overlooking the north Gower marshes, famous for their salt marsh lamb and Penclawdd cockles. At the heart of the village is St. Rhydian & St. Illtyd’s Church, just outside of which you will find 2 large standing stones the upper most of which you will find the tracings of a celtic cross and also traces of iron fixings which it is speculated that the stone was used as a village pillory.

Llanrhidian has a wealth of folk law. There are many tales of ships wrecked on the marshes below which had been carrying rich cargos of gold. Some of the wrecks may still remain below the mud and there are stories of the ghosts of the drowned sailors which still haunt the Welcome to Town pub.
