Welsh male voice choirs have undergone something of a revival in recent years and they have come to signify what the always have been - the heart of the community. The industrial heritage of the South Wales valleys, with their coal mining and iron working traditions, has always been bound by its music.

Swansea Male Voice Choir
Probably the area's best known choir and deservedly so. They regularly perform across the UK and internationally. They have regular performances, selling tickets at Swansea Tourist Information Centre on Plymouth Street (opposite the Quadrant Bus Station). Dunvant Male Choir
A small village with a big voice, Dunvant's male choir is the largest and oldest in Wales. Its achievements are legendary, having appeared at many of the most prestigious international venues and having won most of the major choral competitions open to the nations' male choirs. Morriston Orpheus Choir
Formed in 1935 and enjoying an international reputation as a leading exponent of male choral singing, the Morriston Orpheus Choir is in constant demand, performing around 25-30 engagements annually. They usually rehearse on Wednesday and Sunday evenings in Morriston, Swansea. Morriston Phoenix Choir
A Welsh male voice choir with a difference - They offer a core of the traditional hymns and songs – Cwm Rhondda, Myfanwy, Gwahoddiad - but also a wide range of famous modern songs. Morriston RFC Male Voice Choir
Founded by members of the Rugby Club in 1978 to raise money for charity, it has grown to become one of the premier Welsh male choirs, performing all over the country.  Rehearsal nights are Wednesday and Friday in Seion Newydd, Morriston.  Follow the link to their website where you will find an events calendar and music to sample and purchase.

Pontarddulais Male Voice Choir
The most successful competitive male voice choir in Wales, the Pontarddulais Male Choir is also internationally renowned, having appeared in many parts of Europe, as well as Canada and the United States. Gwalia Singers
The Gwalias were founded in 1966 and quickly gained the reputation of being a small, successful choir, with a strong sense of ‘belonging’. Rehearsals are currently held every Tuesday evening at 7:15pm at the Swansea Yacht and Sub-Aqua Club in the Marina.  Follow the link to their website where you will find an events calendar.

Belmont Male Singers
Founded about 40 years ago by Brian Morris, they have a distinctive sound due to the repertoire being mostly in three part harmony. The choir has about 40 members and is based at St John’s Church, Odo Street, Swansea. Practices take place twice weekly on Tuesday and Thursday from 18:30 to 20:30.
